What's Actually on the 22 Acres

Grand Oaks is a working ranch, not a resort. Twenty-two acres of Hill Country landscape ten minutes from Main Street Fredericksburg. Eleven animals, seven guest structures, a pool, a fire pit, a nature playground, and a lot of open ground. Here's the full inventory.
The animals
Eleven animals currently live on the property. They are the single most-cited thing in our guest reviews. All of them are friendly, all of them are used to visitors, and all of them are part of daily ranch life - not a petting-zoo setup.
-
Bonita and Regalo: two horses.
-
Jax and Maxwell: two Highland cows. The shaggy Scottish ones. Photograph better than they have any right to.
-
Chase and Oreo: two miniature donkeys.
-
Ollie: a miniature heifer.
-
Baby Goat: a child-named goat. The name stuck.
-
Chito, Tiger, and Tundra: three barn cats.
The buildings
-
The 1870 farmhouse. Original homestead. Five bedrooms, sleeps 16. Built in four phases across roughly 80 years - the log cabin (circa 1870), limestone addition (1908), sandstone tower (1917), western frame addition (1925). Ground-floor bedrooms available. Available as a standalone STR or bundled into wedding packages.
-
The barn. Primary indoor event venue. When there's no event, it's set up as a game barn for farmhouse guests. Reserved for farmhouse renters and full-property buyouts. Silo-only guests don't have access.
-
Six silos. Bluebonnet, Wildflower, Pecan, Mesquite, Live Oak, Post Oak. Each is a standalone lodging unit with its own kitchen, bathrooms, and living space. Grouped in a silo community with shared amenities.
The outdoor spaces
-
Resort-style pool. Sun shelf shallow enough for toddlers, waterfall feature. In the silo community. Silo guests only.
-
Fire pit. Swing benches and other seating around it.
-
Nature playground. Built for kids of all ages. (Coming Soon)
-
Ceremony spaces. Multiple outdoor sites used for weddings - a turf area with a stone-wall backdrop and antique door, an oak-canopied clearing (Under the Oaks), and hilltop views (Views of the Hills).
-
Open ranch. The rest is ranch. Mature live oaks, post oaks, pecans, mesquite. Wildflowers in spring. Room to walk. Pastures for the animals.
How the property is zoned
The silo community and the farmhouse sit on separate parts of the property. Silo amenities (pool, fire pit) are for silo guests. The playground will be for all guests. Barn access is for farmhouse renters and full-property buyouts only. During weddings and full buyouts, everyone has access to everything.

What's not on the ranch
Not everything, on purpose. No restaurant on-site. You cook in your silo or you drive ten minutes into town. No spa. No gym. No concierge desk. The place runs quiet. That's the point.
